Co pro nás znamená cesta k tzv. uhlíkové neutralitě? 🤔
Nejsou to sliby, ale systematická práce s emisemi skleníkových plynů podle mezinárodní metodiky GHG Protocol.
Důsledně měříme a snižujeme emise CO2e ve všech třech oblastech (tzv. Scope 1, 2, 3), které neustále během celé výstavby monitorujeme a přepočítáváme.
Scope 1 (tzv. přímé emise): Emise vznikající přímo v místě používáním paliv. Příkladem je spalování zemního plynu pro pro vytápění objektu.
Scope 2 (Nepřímé emise z nakupované energie): Na místě nic nespalujeme, ale budova potřebuje elektřinu na osvětlení, větrání, chlazení a další provoz. Tu někdo jiný musel za vzniku emisí vyrobit a právě tyto emise přesně měříme a zahrnujeme do naší bilance.
Scope 3 (Nepřímé emise v hodnotovém řetězci): Nejen naše největší výzva. Zahrnuje tzv. ztělesněný uhlík – emise z výroby stavebních materiálů, ze kterých stavíme, ale i dopady spojené s provozem budov po celý jejich životní cyklus.
Ve Skanska sledujeme, měříme a úspěšně redukujeme Scope 1 a 2 již od roku 2015, Scope 3 od roku 2019. Právě data nám umožňují emise reálně snižovat a vytvářet kanceláře, které jsou investicí do budoucnosti, nikoliv zátěží pro planetu. 🌍

What does the path to so-called carbon neutrality mean for us? 🤔
It’s not about promises, but about systematic work with greenhouse gas emissions in line with the international GHG Protocol methodology.
We consistently measure and reduce CO2e emissions across all three areas (Scope 1, 2, and 3), which we continuously monitor and recalculate throughout the entire construction process.
Scope 1 (direct emissions): Emissions generated directly on-site through fuel use. An example is the combustion of natural gas for heating a building.
Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased energy): Nothing is burned on-site, but the building requires electricity for lighting, ventilation, cooling, and other operations. This energy has to be produced elsewhere, generating emissions—and these are precisely the emissions we measure and include in our footprint.
Scope 3 (indirect emissions in the value chain): Not only our biggest challenge. It includes so-called embodied carbon—emissions from the production of construction materials we build with, as well as impacts associated with building operations throughout their entire lifecycle.
At Skanska, we have been tracking, measuring, and successfully reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2015, and Scope 3 since 2019. It is data that enables us to genuinely reduce emissions and create offices that are an investment in the future—not a burden on the planet. 🌍
