Skanska renovated the Roosevelt Avenue/7th Street Station Complex for New York City Transit.

The $87 million project included ensuring the station is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The scope of the project included:
· reconstruction of all architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and communications elements
· reconstruction of transfer passageways and stairs, including reconfiguration of the Interborough Rapid Transit mezzanine
· extensive reorganization of station areas for ADA compliance

· relocation of signals and fiber-optic communications cables
· installation of photovoltaic electrical generation panels and communications systems, including signals and fiber-optic cable relocation
· reconfiguration of a 75 foot long, 42-inch diameter sewer siphon
· relocation of a 90 foot long, 24-inch diameter sewer main in order
· expansion of the 73rd Street passageway from 12 feet to 28 feet
· relocation of stairwells
vstructural and water remedy repairs to the deteriorated station components
· installation of architectural treatments to the station floors, walls, stairs and ceilings throughout the complex
· reconstruction of the Interborough Rapid Transit mezzanine, underpass and platform canopies

The project was completed while vehicular and train traffic continued to operate with minimal disruption from construction activities.
