In November 2012 Houston voters overwhelmingly approved a $1.9 billion bond issue to allow the Houston Independent School District to build 40 new education facilities. HISD has organized for this massive effort by adding to their current staff along with contracting through consultants. Our team was awarded the management of six new construction and renovation projects. One of our first tasks was to prepare and submit a program management plan for each project that outlines the key activities to meet the Districts objectives. This plan encompasses all planning, budgeting, scheduling,
design, permitting, procurement, construction and commissioning tasks from concept to completion for each project across the entire team.
Sharpstown High School - $54 million new construction for a
school with 1,300 - 1,500 students.
Lee High School - $73 million new construction for a school of
1,700 - 1,900 students.
Parker Elementary School - $29 million new construction for a
school of 850 students.
Kashmere High School - $17 million renovations to existing
school facilities and site improvements.
Sam Houston Math, Science and Technology Center - $101
million new construction for approximately 2,700 students.
Scarborough High School - $12 million renovations to existing
school facilities and site improvements.
