Skanska v České Republice


Skanska started out from modest beginnings in southern Sweden in 1887. Today we are one of the world's leading project development and construction companies. Our operations in the Czech Republic date back to 1953 when Zemstav was established. In 2000 we became Skanska CZ.


1887 Aktiebolaget Skanska Cementgjuteriet established in Sweden.

1953 Zemstav, specialized in earthworks, is founded in the Czech Republic.

1965 AB Skanska Cementgjuteriet is registered on the Stockholm Stock Exchange A list.

1984 Skanska Cementgjuteriet changes its name to Skanska.

1998 Zemstav changes its name to IPS as.

2000 Skanska acquired IPS as and Skanska in the Czech Republic is born.

2002 The Skanska Code of Conduct is introduced.

2003-2005 Terminal North 2, the largest building in the entire complex of the new Prague Airport Ruzyne, is built.

2006 The D1 motorway, the most important traffic artery in the Czech Republic, is completed by Skanska.

2009 Skanska receives the Construction Award and the SFDI Award for the New Connection Railway which is opened in 2010.

2012 Skanska celebrates its 125-year anniversary.

2014 Wins ABS's Construction Company of the Year Award on the basis of public voting.

2015 Awarded TOP Responsible Large Company of the Year and also receives an award for a Long-term contribution to corporate social responsibility in the Czech Republic. Office building Corso Court in Prague earned a LEED Platinum rating.
