Skanska, as the EPC Contractor teamed with a joint venture engineering partner, is currently constructing the Valley Energy Center for Competitive Power Ventures in Waywayanda, New York. Valley Energy Center is a new 650 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle facility utilizing two General Electric F-class combustion turbines with dual fuel capability in a 2x1 configuration. When completed, it will be of the cleanest power generating facilities in the state of New York and will lower the region’s CO2 emissions by approximately 494,000 tons per year for its first 15 years of operation.
