Sponsoring
In the area of sponsorship and social responsibility we proceed in compliance with our Swedish head office. We will attempt to focus the sponsorship of Skanska in the Czech Republic into three basic lines: education, safety and help for victims of natural disasters.
For us social responsibility is also a way to create quality relations within the firm, encourage good relations with clients and suppliers, to take an interest in the environment in places where we operate and attempt to give back to the societies where we operate some of our success by, amongst other things, supporting interesting local environmental care projects.
Since 2004 we have been cooperating the Partnership Foundation on the programme Tree of Life and the survey Tree of the Year, and together we attempt to develop the relationship of local communities to the environment where they live, to finance the planting of trees and other greenery, to support the landscaping of public space and in general to contribute to the improvement in the environment in tens of places in the Czech Republic. As of the end of 2007 we had planted more than 35 thousand trees in the Czech Republic as a result of the programme Tree of Life, and we involved thousands of people throughout the entire country in these projects.
We are partners of important cultural events such as the International Opera Festival Smetanova Litomyšl, Brno, City at the Heart of Europe or Bratislava Cultural Summer.
